The St. Monica School curriculum meets both national and state educational requirements. St. Monica School is fully accredited by the Texas Catholic Conference of Bishops Education Department (TCCBED), which is approved by the Texas Education Agency (TEA). Our standards-based curriculum is designed by the Office of Catholic Schools of the Diocese of Dallas and is outlined in the Diocesan Curriculum Guide. Basic to the curriculum is the study of the following:
DIFFERENTIATION: Multi-sensory and cooperative learning activities targeting all learning styles
ENRICHMENT: Weekly critical thinking class, class unit enrichment activities, pull-out programs, Destination Imagination, chess club, choir, academic contests, and other extra-curricular activities
GUIDANCE: Life skills, anti-bullying, Digital Citizenship lesson, and Virtues Based Restorative Discipline
COMMUNITY: Surrounded by the caring, loving school and faith community
RELIGION: An emphasis on scripture and catechism taught through religious artwork, dramatic presentations, modeling, and awareness of social justice issues in all subject areas. Active participation in school Masses
SERVICE: Service connected to all units: Veteran’s Day letters, Christmas Angels, Book Drive, and participation in school and parish service projects
