Congratulations Celina Barry – PTO Volunteer of the Month! There is so much she has done and does that is behind the scenes that most are not aware of. Celina is a wonderful example of a Christian in her thoughts, words and deeds. She and her husband, Mark, have a 7th grade daughter, Elle, at St. Monica. Also, they have a son Alec who attends another nearby school. Several years ago, Celina volunteered to take over as the parish/school liaison for Catholic Daughters of America while concurrently serving as a grade level leader. She is still handling this very important and time consuming responsibility. Celina is a Eucharistic Minister, has served as the childcare coordinator for Sunday morning Masses among many things. Whether officially or unofficially, Celina has assisted with other numerous school and church efforts including but not limited to assisting with coaching the 2016/2017 6th grade girls’ softball team. Her husband Mark handled all the softball equipment ensuring it was available at practices and games. This school year, 2017/2018, Celina is coaching the 7th grade girls’ D1 volleyball team.
Celina is very committed to her Catholic faith and prioritizes it above everything else. She is passionate about sharing the faith with everyone especially the girls who are in Junior Catholic Daughters. At meetings, she presents to the JCDA girls, very thoughtful material to aid them in deepening their knowledge about Catholicism, and love of Jesus and his mother, Mary. Also, she shows the love of Jesus to the girls when helping with sports and other activities.
