February 2025 Teacher of the Month

St. Monica is truly fortunate to have a teacher like Ms. Thrasher. Her passion for teaching inspires a love of learning in her students. In our St. Monica community, our teachers are deeply valued for their dedication and commitment to the well-being and growth of each student, even in challenging times.

As one of his nominators wrote: Ms. Thrasher wrote; “Ms. Thrasher has showed incredible personal strength to our children, teaching them perseverance and trusting in God despite the challenges we face. She’s kind and thoughtful but maintains expectations of good behavior. I have also noticed that she observes my son‘s talents and goes out of her way to nurture them. She is confident, and I am confident in her. Not all teachers are kind and patient while still challenging our students in their education and behavior. I believe Ms. Thrasher is one of the gems who possesses it all!” Another parent wrote, “Ms. Thrasher is a wonderful educator. She goes above and beyond for her students. She communicates well with parents by keeping us updated. She sets high expectations and challenges her students, guiding them to not only meet but often surpass those goals. In the midst of her own health challenges, she remained present. Even during her recovery, she stayed connected with us through emails and continued to offer her support. She wanted to ensure her students were not affected by her absence. She continues to put on her full armor of God and, equipped with faith, she shows up with a smile on her face and joy in her heart despite her circumstances. You can see her heart through the consistency of her actions. We are so blessed to have Ms. Thrasher as a teacher this year.”
