September 2020 Teacher of the Month

This teacher has been such a wonderful recent addition to our school. From the moment you walk into her classroom, you know that this educator is about creating a fun and organized learning environment for her students.  Her classroom is decorated with a bright, color scheme that welcomes her students with encouragement and readiness to learn. She is thorough, creative, and well-prepared when it comes to lesson-planning that even her own students know how the classroom runs in her absence. She is thoughtful and
caring not only to her students but also to substitute teachers who are left with a wealth of information to run her class seamlessly in her absence and she arms them not only with details but delicious snacks! 
When the pandemic hit, she made sure to provide her students with regularly-scheduled zooms – together as
a class as well as separate zooms for boys and girls. She mailed out care packages for each of her students and even conducted an awards ceremony at the end of the school year. To help encourage and support socialization, she hosted a few “weekend funnies” and a movie zoom, approved and coordinated with parents so the kids can have some additional social hours together. She completely went out of her way to schedule multiple sessions in order to accommodate everyone. We are so blessed to have you and name you as our September Teacher of the Month Ms. Hillier! As a lover of Dr. Seuss's books, we thought it only appropriate to celebrate your announcement in a Seussical way.
She’s a bundle of fundle,
a teacher who cares
Her little humans adore her because she’s so rare!
She’s funny and understanding,
she always takes time
To groom little humans to rise and to climb.
Ms. Hillier is amazing and praising of all,
She lifts us and gifts us
She sees us and hears us
She engages with “presences”
And no---- that’s not all!
Armed with a Hillier bun,
And organizers galore,
I promise class will run smoothly
So much you’ll be floored.
And after you’ve spent
A year in her class
You’ll go about life
Remembering the blast!
The knowledge you’ve gained
Will stick forever like glue
And the difference she’s made
Will forever be in you!
