INTERMEDIATE:  3RD, 4TH AND 5TH GRADES

CURRICULUM

The St. Monica School curriculum meets both national and state educational requirements. St. Monica School is fully accredited by the Texas Catholic Conference Education Department (TCCED), which is approved by the Texas Education Agency (TEA).  Our standards-based curriculum is designed by the Office of Catholic Schools of the Diocese of Dallas and is set forth in the Diocesan Curriculum Guide. Basic to the curriculum is the study of the following:

DEVELOPING THE WHOLE CHILD 

DIFFERENTIATION:  Multi-sensory and cooperative learning activities targeting all learning styles

ENRICHMENT:  Weekly critical thinking class, class unit enrichment activities, pull out programs, Destination Imagination, chess club, choir, academic contests and other extra-curricular activities

GUIDANCE:  Life skills, anti-bullying and digital citizenship lessons

COMMUNITY:  Surrounded by caring, loving school and faith community 

CATHOLIC FAITH 

RELIGION:  An emphasis on scripture and catechism taught through religious artwork, dramatic presentations, modeling, and awareness of social justice issues in all subject areas. Active participation in school masses

SERVICE:  Service connected to all units:  Veteran’s Day letters, Christmas Angels, Book Drive, and participation in school and parish service projects
